Our School Pons
d’Icart is a mixed state Secondary School devoted to teaching
and developing the personal and academic qualities of our students aged
12 to 18 .
· The
school dimensions provide a friendly environment with approximately sixty
expert teachers specialized in particular cultural areas, and about six
hundred students, sharing their personal backgrounds and cultures to become
competitive and well trained students.
· The building,
a monastery in former times, was later established as a Secondary School
in 1978. It is located in the very city centre, near the URV faculties of
Law, History, Philosophy and Language Studies, and not far from the City
library of Tarragona
· The
School is organized to provide its students with a qualified secondary
compulsory curriculum (students aged 12 to 16), as well as to teach and prepare
those who are interested in further education to become university students.
· The
School aims to prepare its students to succeed in achieving
a university degree in the Technological, Scientific, Humanistic,
Social and Artistic areas and focuses especially on the Performing arts, Music
and Dance as essential subjects to develop.
· There is
an interesting and considerable development of activities to improve student
skills in science (laboratory practice), languages (several student exchanges),
world of business and commerce (work experience), artistic
performances (concerts, theatre, music) as well as outings to visit
culturally interesting sites (Roman remains, chemical industries), attending
lectures based on topics connected to the students’ syllabus, and sporting
activities (skiing, water sports…) among others.
- The school
also offers students the possibility to prepare for admission to a French University ,
by validating the High School Diploma to the French Baccalaureate.
- The School is
also involved in the so called “1x1 project”, an initiative set up by the
Catalan Department of Education, which combines the use of new technologies
(laptops, digital books, digital interactive whiteboards...) with the
traditional books and teaching methods.
- It is also
important to mention that the school is set on running a new programme, the
so-called PELE, which integrates the learning of scholarly contents of a
particular subject through the learning of a foreign language.
Le lycée Pons d’Icart
Le lycée Pons d’Icart de Tarragona est un établissement
scolaire qui acueillit 600 élèves, âgés de 12 à 18 ans, et 60 professeurs
appartenant a plus de 15 disciplines. Il existe depuis 1978 , il se trouve
au coeur de la ville, à côté de la cité de Tarragona, célèbre par ses monuments
de l’antiquité romaine. Il est près des facultés de: Droit, Histoire, Philosophie,
Filologie…
Au lycée Pons d’Icart il y a l’enseignement obligatoire:
ESO (de 12 à 16 ans)et l’enseignement volontaire: BAT(de 16 à 18 ans)
La langue de l’enseignement est le catalan pour toutes les
matières, sauf pour la langue espagnole et les langues étrangères.
Le Batxillerat est organisé en séries: sociale,
humanistique-littéraire, technologique- scientifique,artistique ,et sciences
médicales; et vise la poursuite d’études supérieures longues.
Depuis 2011 il y existe une nouvelle série: le Batxibac,
qui permet aux élèves forts en français d’obtenir le double titre du
Baccalauréat français et du Batxillerat espagnol.
Pendant l’année scolaire 2009-11 cet établissement s’est
rallié au projet: 1x1, il s’agit
d’une innovation pédagogique du Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale de Catalogne
qui s’inscrit dans le cadre du développement des usages des TICE dans la
classe: un ordinateur portable pour chaque élève, des manuels digitaux, des
tableaux blancs interactifs…
En outre, ce lycée développera bientôt le projet “PELE”:
Plà estratègic de llengües estrangères, qui consiste à utiliser une langue
étrangère pour enseigner une matière non lingüistique.
